**Kanguru ve Sahibini Kurtaran Dostluk**
Çanakkale, 2020.
Eski bir zeytinlik ve tepelerle çevrili ıssız bir çiftlikte, 71 yaşındaki emekli çiftçi Ali Yılmaz yaşardı. Şehir gürültüsünden uzak, hayvanlarla iç içe bir hayatı tercih etmişti. Eşini on yıl önce kaybetmişti ve o günden beri dünyası evi, bahçesi ve küçük bir şişe süt kadarken kurtardığı yetim bir kangurudan ibaretti.
Ona *”Yaman”* adını verdi.
“O bir evcil hayvan değil,” derdi Ali. “O, hayat arkadaşım.”
Yaman hızla büyüdü. Çiftlikte özgürce zıplar, ama her gece verandanın yanında uyurdu. Ali radyo dinlerken yanına uzanır, bahçeyi çapalarken ya da çitleri tamir ederken sessiz bir gölge gibi peşinden gelirdi.
Bir sabah, ahırda çalışırken Ali gevşek bir tahtaya takılıp düştü. Düşüşü kötüydü. Sırtına aldığı darbe onu hareketsiz bıraktı. Eski Nokia telefonu evdeydi ve iki gün boyunca kimse gelmeyecekti.
“Yaman…” diye inledi, dişlerini sıkarak. “Yardım et evlat.”
Kanguru yaklaştı, yüzünü kokladı. Ali zorlukla patisini tutup evi işaret etti.
“Git… Yardım bul… Git.”
Saçma görünüyordu. Bir kanguru bunu nasıl anlayabilirdi ki?
Ama Yaman gitti. Eve doğru zıplarını sıraladı. Ali kaçtığını sandı.
Ta ki on beş dakika sonra tanıdık bir ses duyana kadar…
“Ali Amca! İyi misiniz?”
Gelen, zaman zaman çiftliğe uğrayıp yaban hayvanlarını kontrol eden genç veteriner Ayşe’ydi. Yaman, yolun kenarında duran Ayşe’nin minibüsüne kadar koşmuş, ayaklarıyla yeri dürtükleyip tuhaf sesler çıkararak ona bakmış, sonra tekrar çiftliğe dönüş yapmıştı. O kadar ısrarcı oldu ki, Ayşe peşinden geldi.
“Hiç böyle davrandığını görmemiştim,” dedi sonra. “Sanki bana sesizce bağırıyordu.”
